We also repair rotten window sills, frames and sashes,etc. We chop out old putty-work and replace with either new putty or wooden beadings. How it all started

Gavin started the business in 1983 with a friend and R5 in his pocket. They launched into home maintenance with enthusiasm with the company at that time called Odd Job Man. Although they were presented with many challenges the business grew rapidly along with their skills. During this time they were asked to do some sash window repairs which were very foreign to them but through perseverance Gavin learnt the trade and slowly came to realize that there was a real need for sash window repairs.

In 1998 Gavin decided to phase out the property maintenance and concentrate only on sash windows. Since then Sash Windows Specialists have been commissioned to repair many of Cape Town’s historical windows including the Alphen Hotel, The Castle, Leeuwenhof and Groot Constantia, to mention a few. They also enjoy working at the manor houses on the wine farms on our occasional country trips. Their dedicated staff are a credit to the company and have mostly been with Sash Window Specialists for many years.
